East Carolina University Department of Athletics Tyler Bailey - Lead videographer and producer (student) Brian Meador - Director of Video Content (ECU Athletic Staff) Greg Herring - Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement (ECU Athletic Staff) The Pirate Baseball team ended its 2016 season 90-feet from reaching Omaha, which remains the ultimate goal for our program. The idea behind the video was to capture the team was putting in the work and dedication in achieving their goal...and, to help get Pirate Nation excited about the upcoming season (and hopefully interested in purchase season tickets!). The video was distributed through social and digital media channels in mid-December. Here are the video's statistics: FACEBOOK - Reached 164.5K people; 50K views; 359 emotions and 10 comments; 504 shares YOUTUBE - 4,004 Views The fact that we had more shares than emotions and comments, tells me that the video really resonated with our fan base and achieved high fan engagement. Additionally, with the quality and interest in the video, we shortened it to a :30 second commercial that we used with local/regional television partners in promotion of purchasing season tickets in early February. I'd like to think this video has helped to contribute to the 300+ new season tickets we've sold this spring!
